Vichy SPF 30 mattifying face fluid

We are in the Fall but it doesn’t mean that he UV are geving us a break. I thought this would be the best time to mention one of my Summer favourites.

I find this facial sunscreen from Vichy simply amazing. I only started using specific facial sunscreens a few years ago but I find most of them super greasy and I don’t enjoy the smell that most brands use. So I decided to give this one a try and I have to say that I’m super happy.

It’s SPF 30 against UVA+UVB; it’s mattifying and I love how my skin feels after I use it and I think it controls the oiliness throughout the day in a really decent way; has no parabens; the scent is super soft. I also used it under my makeup every once in a while and I could totally work with it so it’s a big plus.

Personally, I didn’t find anything bad about this product so I would say this is a suuuuper big win! I have purchased it 2 more times and I will do it again for sure!

  1. Review | L’Oreal Super Liner Gel Intenza

I am a huge eyeliner obsessed kinda girl so I was super curious about gel liners. I finally decided to try it and I got the one from L’Oreal which is freaking amazing. It is suuuuuper creamy, pigmented and easy to build up, and the brush that comes with is just perfect.

The eyeliener comes with these claims:

    Intense line - checks

Dramatic eye look - you can get dramatic as you want because the line is very ease to build

24h wear - sorry but no way! It does stay nice for hours, but as you can see in the photos (after 9h) it does break and transfer to the crease. I didn’t use any eye primer so I could see the real effect. One of the eyes is pretty messed up but the other one is decent so I would say the effect is random. Anyway, after such a long time I think it’s fair that this happened without any primer or concealer.

Waterproof - mehhh…not sure because of the reasons above, but I’ll check eventually.

Quick dry formula - I can say that, and no worries about adding extra coatings.

Ultra-comfort - well yes, but I feel the same with all the other liners that I tried. Nothing new here.

I know that these gel products tend to dry quicker than the liquid ones but as far as this feature I’ll have to wait a little longer to say anything about it.

    Overall, new favourite, definitely.

    Bought at Primor, for 7,95€.

Review | BB Nivea Cream vs CC Physicians Formula Cream

The warm weather has arrived and I like to wear something coloured enough to even your skin but without the weight of a normal foundation. So I decided to go with the BB/CC creams. I tried these 2 but I found some difrerences so I decided to review them:

    - BB Cream, Nivea

Promises to even, moisturise, cover and brighten your skin. I don’t really disagree with that but I have combination skin and I have problems with this product in my T zone. I didn’t like the result in those particular areas so I kinda gave up on this cream, which is a pity because I was happy with the coverage power.

I have it in the Light tone, but you can forget using it without having some tan in your face. Not light at all! Also, I found the texture really heavy which is a feature that I don’t want in a BB cream.

    Has a SPF 10.

Bought it in London, at about .

    -  Organic Wear CC Cream, Physicians Formula

First of all, this is a 100% natural origin cream, which I think is the best thing about this product. Super light weight, so you don’t really feel that you’re wearing anything in your face and I think it’s just perfect for the Summer weather. Really like how my skin looks with this product.

I’m not sure if it comes in more than 1 tone but I have mine in Light to Medium. I bought it at Primor website and they don’t really say the tone, so I tought it would be an universal, adjusts-to-your-skintone kinda cream. Actually I was really lucky because it matches my tone but I would say I won’t be able to use it during winter time since I’m kinda taned now. At least, it’s not as misleading as the BB Nivea Cream.

Has a SPF 20 (super happy with that!).

Bought it at Primor, for 12,99€. I think it’s a very nice price for a natural origin cream.

Even though these are slighty different products, I use them the same way with the same end so when I compare them, the winner for me is, without a doubt, the Physicians Formula CC Cream.

    Make up essentials

Today I brought 2 products that are complete essentials to me. Everyone loves a good mascara and Rimmel mascaras are my favourites. They all seem to work the same for me, but now I’m using the Volume Flash ScandalEyes and it not only gives volume but also super lenght, so it’s actually a double win. I always run from curling mascaras considering that my eyelashes are pretty curved already, and I think the wand it’s simply perfect for my lashes.

Another essential is a good retractile black liner. Retractile liners are always the best option, considering that one doesn’t have to worry about sharpen it, with the usual waste of product that comes from that. I was really surprised with the Long lasting eye pencil from Essence. I started using the one from Kiko Milano but the it’s twice the price and the quality it’s exactly the same, so I found this one a much better option. It does transfer after some hours but the pigmentation is pretty decent, so for now I’m definitely keeping it.

  1. First Impressions | Maybelline Super Stay 24h #611 Creme Caramel

I was looking for a long lasting nude lipstain and I thought I found it with this Maybelline´s product. Well, it is definitely nude I can tell you that, maybe too close to my own lip colour, but well…It has one side with the actual colour and another side with a balsam stick that I think will fall pretty easily. I found it really comfortable on the lips, and while I was eating I thought it didn’t transfer so I was thrilled. BUT after that I took a look at my lips and the colour was starting to break, but since it’s a nude it’s not a big deal. However, if you go for a stronger colour you’ll definitely be disappointed, mostly because I think it could last 24 hours (as it promises) as long as you don’t eat or talk that much during the day…which I don’t think it’s an actual option for most of us. Overall, I kinda think it’s a fail, but I will keep trying to work it out.

  1. Review | Essence eyeliner pen

This is probably my first and last purchase of an eyeliner pen. Essence is an extremely affordable makeup brand and I do like some of the products, but this one is a massive fail. The pigmentation is nice for only 2 applications, after which is almost impossible to create an homogenous eyeliner. Don’t get me wrong, I knew in what I was getting into when I bought it, I do know that eyeliner pens dry super fast, but I would expect it to last more than 1 week. Plus, in the photo you can see how it breaks and transfers, and I took the photo about half an hour after I use it. I don’t think I will buy other brands, I’ll just skip right into eyeliner gels.

    Bought at Clarel - 3,49€.

  1. Review | Elf eyelid primer

So I got this primer out of curiosity and so far, so good. I tested it in just one eye with a smokey eye makeup and I could see a difference but it was not enough to be caught on camera. I must say that it prevented completely the eyeshadow to fall into my under eye zone, which actually happened a little bit in the eye I didn’t put the primer. As for the intensity of the shadows, I can’t say they pop up, or at least I don’t find it noticeable. The texture resembles a mousse and it leaves you a discreet shimmer as you can see in my hand. It was really cheap so, overall, I think it’s a nice product.

Bought in Denmark for about 2€.

    Review | Sleek eyeshadow pallete

Lately, I’ve being wanting to buy a nice, yet affordable, pallete. You can’t really go wrong with nudes, and after a few research I bought this Sleek pallete. Unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to use it more than a couple of times, but so far I like it. It’s pigmented, well blending and it lasts on the eye without any primer, which is always a good sign. You can find glitter and matte eyeshadows, including a champagne “Nougat” tone perfect for illuminating you eyes; and also a black “Noir” shadow for incredible smokey eyes.

I bought it at Sephora for 10€.

Active nail hardener - I couldn’t see such a difference in my nails really. They are naturally fragile and I haven’t find yet any hardener/fortifying nail treatment worth the name.

Colour 060 - it’s a beautiful aubergine tone that I adore, but like any other it cracks after 2 days. The price is quite nice (2.99€) and usually I tend to say that we can’t ask for more considering the price. However, considering my experience with more expensive nail polishes, maybe I have to change that opinion…

Top coat - we shouldn’t expect a milacre from this top coat, it just postpone the cracking for maybe 1 day. Usually I use it to retouch the shine.
